A bench trial will be heard on November 18th in Christian County for the drunk driving case of the mayor of Nixa.
Brian Hayes was pulled over on June 14th for suspicion of drunk driving in Nixa. Once the Nixa police officer realized who he had pulled over, the Highway patrol was called in to take over the investigation.
Hayes, was released to a sober driver after he was booked into the Christian County jail.
Hayes has said that he, "regrets his poor decision to drive to put myself in this position. Due to my own poor decision I will be judged and scrutinized, all of which I deserve, but the City of Nixa does not."
Two Nixa aldermen have publicly asked that Hayes voluntarily resign.
