A man from Crane was placed on five years probation and ordered to pay $2,600 in restitution for destroying headstones and other property at Charity Cemetery late last year.
As part of his guilty plea, Timmy Lee Mace, 32, must also complete Stone County drug court,
According the the probable cause statement, a witness told Stone County deputy Mark Rinker that "it looked like Timmy was trying to tear down a swing over a grave." The deputy noted that several other headstones, flower arrangements and an arbor had been damaged.
"When I arrived on scene, I observed a male subject in the road jumping up and down, waving his hands above his head as if doing jumping jacks," Rinker writes in the probable cause statement.
"During the entire incident Timmy was acting erratically, constantly in motion and to to himself or others that were not there."
