Joshua Brown (l) - Dennis Brown and Sandra Jo Hall |
Three people are facing felony burglary charges connected to an armed home invasion in the early morning hours of February 3rd.
Stone County deputies were dispatched to 1200 Everest Road in Galena about 2:30 a.m. for reports of a burglary in progress.
A teenaged girl, who was home alone while her parents were on vacation, told authorities she heard someone yell outside and then heard glass breaking. The girl then called her brother and 9-1-1.
While waiting for help to arrive, the girl locked her bedroom door and hid in a closet. She told deputies she could hear people "moving around in the house and at one time try to open her bedroom door."
When her brother, Stephen McAndrews, arrived he found a woman sitting in a vehicle in the driveway. When he went to the back of the residence he discovered that the back door had been forced open and observed two men running away.
McAndrews and two of the suspects, Dennis James Brown, Jr., 35, and Joshua Thomas Brown, 31, both of Kimberling City, exchanged gunfire as the Brown's escaped into some nearby woods.
The woman in the vehicle, Sandra Jo Hall, 46, of Reeds Spring, told deputies that she and the Brown's had come to the house to speak to someone named "Tim." After she was arrested, Hall told deputies that the Brown's put property from the residence in the trunk of the vehicle.
Several laptops and guns were discovered in the trunk during a search of the vehicle, according to the probable cause statement.
Chief Deputy Tim Gideon writes in court documents that "after an extensive search, Joshua and Dennis Brown were apprehended walking in the area later in the morning."
The Brown's have been charged with assault with a weapon, robbery, burglary, stealing and armed criminal action. Dennis Brown is being held without bond (update-his bond has now been set at $150,000 cash only); Joshua Brown is being held on a $100,000 cash only bond.
Sandra Jo Hall has been charged with burglary and receiving stolen property. She is also being held on a $100,000 cash only bond.
