A man from Galena charged with domestic assault after beating his mother and father up on Christmas day has been sentenced to seven years in prison after entering an Alford plea in Stone County circuit court.

The father of Quade Galen Washington, 24, suffered a broken hip in the assault. His mother, who refused to be transported, had a swollen hand and neck.
Court documents say Washington, who was placed in the Stone County MOJO program in July of 2011 after he pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, refused a breathalyzer test. He was also serving five years probation in Christian County after pleading guilty to stealing and drug charges there in 2009 at the time of the assault.
Washington was sentenced to a long term treatment prison treatment program and could be released on probation in a year, according to Stone County assistant prosecutor Dayrell Scrivner.
