A firefighter with the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District was bound over for trial after he waived his preliminary hearing last week.
Prosecutors allege that Matthew Anderson, 26, of Branson West, allegedly inappropriately touched a six year-old girl last year.
This is the third time sexual charges involving children have been leveled against firefighters with the SSCFPD. In 2011, a jury in Jasper County, where the trial of Larry Joe Smith Jr. was moved on a change of venue, found him guilty of sexually molesting two daughters of a colleague he was babysitting. And in May of 2011, Jesse Lee Compton, 41, pleaded guilty to having sex with a fourteen year-old girl multiple times in 2008.
Anderson, who was released from custody after posting $50,000 bond, is on administrative leave from the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District pending the outcome of the case.
