A sixty two year-old man from Walnut Shade is recovering from surgery after allegedly being stabbed by his forty five year-old stepson.
Taney County Sheriff Jimmie Russell says that the forty five year-old man and his wife showed up at the Irene's Lane home of the man's stepfather about 6:30 p.m. last night (01-06-10) and began "slicing the older mans hand with a pocket knife."
Russell says the older man fired two shots from a gun to defend himself. One of those rounds went into the ceiling, the other into the stepsons foot. Russell says the forty five year-old man is scheduled to undergo surgery today.
The sheriff says that alcohol was a contributing factor in the incident.
Reports from the sheriffs office have been forwarded to the prosecutors office for the filing of charges.
UPDATE 01-08-10:
