Walter SalwasserMcDonald County authorities are asking for the public's help in locating an inmate that escaped from the McDonald County jail this morning.
Walter Salwasser, 36, (aka Woody) had been a trustee at the jail for a little over a month.
Sheriff Robert Evenson says that between 5:30 and 6:00 this morning, Salwasser simply walked out of the jail. Deputies found Salwasser's jail issued jump suit near a dumpster where a bunch of old clothing had recently been discarded.
Salwasser who has ties to Neosho, Joplin and Tulsa OK., is a white male, 6'03"/ 220 lbs. His head is shaved and he has green eyes and a goatee and has numerous tattoos.
Salwasser was in jail on forgery charges and could possibly be armed.
