Some graduates and current participants in Stone County's Intensive Supervision Program (Drug Court) recently took part in an "Extreme Park Project" in Galena.

The park makeover was spearheaded by Heather Fletcher with the Missouri Department of Probation and Parole.

The two day event "started last year with Connie Johnson with Galena Vision of Hope," said Fletcher.

A gazebo was erected, a serving area repaired, and picnic tables were installed in the project. The park also received new swings.

An 85 foot brick wall was erected with mostly donated or "deeply discounted" materials.  "Some materials were donated and others were bought with a grant from table the Table Rock Lake Chamber of Commerce," Fletcher said.

The Galena Vision of Hope donated $1,212 and Drug Court matched $500 from the City of Galena.

Fletcher says numerous people and businesses made the project a success.
