Christian Hayes and friends enjoying the first full day of summer vacation at the pool in Crane

A sure sign that summer has arrived is when the city pool opens for business.

The pool in Crane will be open daily from noon - 5 p.m., according to manager Barbara Bentley.

Bentley says swim lessons will be offered to the public on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's from June 16 - 27.  The cost is $30 per student.

"We're going to offer water aerobics too, " she said.  So far about ten people have signed up for that class for which dates are being finalized.

Season passes are available for $65.00 for the first family member and then $15.00 for each additional person.

Private parties can also be booked from 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. to 10 p.m.

"We always have two lifeguards watching the pool," said Bentley.  "The kids that come here are well taken care of and supervised.
