A man from Galena was charged with two counts of domestic assault following a disturbance at his home late last month.

Court documents say Floyd Douglas Hicks Jr., 28, allegedly ripped the shirt off of his wife, hit her and shoved her against a wall.  He allegedly told her "he could kill her" during the incident.  The woman told officers that Hicks has assaulted her in the past and has threatened to shoot her.  A handgun was seized by investigators.

The same day Hicks' sister had to be treated for injuries at a hospital in Branson after he allegedly assaulted her.

In that incident, the woman told Detective Bruce Belin that Hicks pushed her to the ground and sat on her chest.  The woman, who suffered scrapes and scratches in the altercation, was afraid she had suffered internal injuries in the attack but medical tests revealed that was not the case.

The sister told Belin that Hicks has assaulted her in the past and that "he is an alcoholic and woman beater."

Hicks is being held in the Stone County jail on $25,000 bond.
