Severe Thunderstorms that blew through the area last week caused damage to some boats and docks in the southern part of the county.
Stone County Emergency Management Director Tom Martin says Campbell Point Marina between Lampe and Shell Knob suffered damage from what is believed to have been straight line winds. "We have one large houseboat dock that's been completely demolished and tossed up on top of another large dock," he said. Some boats were "floating free" and had to be recovered, according to Martin.
"Luckily there was no one on the other boats and no one was injured."
There were other damage reports to houses scattered throughout the county and some trees were blown across roadways in the storm that dumped about 2 inches of rain throughout the region.
