Stone County ranked 47th out of 115 counties in Missouri in a health study conducted by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Factors like smoking, drinking, drug use, obesity and lack of places to exercise were some of the criteria used in the study.  Teen pregnancies is another.

The county ranked 51st for length of life; 53rd for quality of life; 43rd for health behaviors; 42nd for clinical care; 63rd for physical environment and near the bottom of the list, 102nd, for social and economic factors.
