Longtime Stone County road and bridge employee Mike Keithley was recently promoted to shop foreman for Northern Stone county.

"The biggest change for me is overseeing the whole crew," said Keithley.  "Now I'm responsible for all the roads, projects and guys on the north end.  It's been exciting, for sure," he said.

Northern commissioner Mark Maples says Keithley was the right man for the job.  "It wasn't an easy choice....in fact, it was probably one of the hardest decisions I've had to make as commissioner," said Maples.

Keithley, a lifelong Stone County resident, has been employed by the county for 18 years. He and his wife, Terry, have twin daughters and a son.

"There's somethin' new pretty much everyday that present some challenges," said Keithley.

Keithley succeeds Tommy Hudson who recently retired after 31 years of service to Stone County taxpayers.

"Tommy was an outstanding employee who will be greatly missed," said Maples.
