Breck Fleming Wakefield (mug shot SCSO)

A former Branson West alderman and business owner was formally arraigned in circuit court on multiple sex charges involving a former underage employee and has pleaded not guilty.
-
Breck Fleming Wakefield, 47, was originally charged with numerous statutory sodomy and sexual misconduct charges involving two former employees, but some of those charges were dropped when one of the men, who is now in his late twenties, failed to show up at Wakefield's preliminary hearing last month.
-
The victim, who was injured in a tiger attack at Wakefield's now defunct business Predator World, testified that the sexual abuse began in 2005 when he was 13 and continued even when he was receiving treatment for his injuries in St. Louis.  The man, who is now permanently disabled and confined to a wheelchair as a result of the tiger attack, said Wakefield became his guardian when he was a teen after his parents were arrested on drug charges.
-
Wakefield, who was arrested late last year following a lengthy investigation by the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, travels around the country as a representative of businesses seeking exotic animals.
-
He is due back in court again September 3rd.
