One of the suspects charged in the 2011 murder of a man from Highlandville is facing additional charges connected to the man's homicide.
Prosecutor Matt Selby filed amended charges of felony murder against Teri Dean-Morrison at her court appearance last week in Galena. The new felony charge alleges that Carl Anderson was murdered while he was being feloniously restrained/and or assaulted.
Anderson, was reported missing by family members who told authorities the last person he had been with was Dean-Morrison and a group of her friends. His remains were found on property belonging to a former boyfriend of Dean-Morrison's about a month after he disappeared.
The trial for Dean-Morrison, who has also been charged as a prior and persistent offender, is expected to be held in Jasper County early next year.
Trials for Eugene Crider and Cheryl Crawford, who are also facing murder charges connected to Anderson's homicide, are scheduled to be held later this year.
A bench trial for Crider's girlfriend, Krystal Buras, who is facing charges of tampering with physical evidence, is scheduled for December.
