One of four people charged early this year after a meth lab was found at a home in Galena waived his preliminary hearing this week and was bound over for trial.
Dustin Gan, 26, is scheduled to be arraigned in circuit court on April 10th, but a plea deal could be worked out before that date, according to his attorney Brady Musgrave.
An investigation into the location of stolen property is what led to the discovery of the meth lab. When law enforcers executed a search warrant at 614 South Pine they discovered a large amount of stolen property from Wire Road Rebuilders in Crane.
Chad Vaught told authorities he was missing a Dewalt Saw, Yamaha generator, propane bottles, catalytic converters, gasoline and miscellaneous tools from his business. He told detectives told that he had caught an employee, Randy Len Higgins, stealing gas from him earlier.
Higgins, 37, was sentenced to 120 days shock time in the Missouri Department of Corrections in late February on drug and burglary charges.
His girlfriend, Nicole Moreen Jennings, 30, who is facing drug charges is also due back in circuit court on April 10th.
Another man, Dan Baker, 53, was allegedly caught burglarizing the South Pine house when Stone County deputies returned there to shore up the investigation. Baker’s due back in court on May 16th.
