A man from Crane is back behind bars after he failed to appear in court last month on stealing charges.

In September of 2011, Tony Douglas Frieze, 34, was charged after Frank Hooten reported that a large amount of scrap metal missing from his property at 42624 Highway 413. 

According to court documents another man, who is cooperating with authorities, "admitted that he and Tony sold the scrap items to the Stone County Recycling Center."  The cooperating witness told authorities that Frieze asked him "to initiate the transaction because Tony claimed to have lost his wallet."  The man told authorities that Frieze paid him $30 of the $230 he got for the scrap metal.

Frieze, who has a lengthy criminal history that dates back over a decade, is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
