Seth Eugene Henderson (mug shot SCSO)

A man from Reeds Spring with a lengthy criminal history was charged with resisting arrest and unlawful possession of a firearm following a traffic stop in December.

Deputy Duane Keithley says that Seth Eugene Henderson, 40, refused to stop his vehicle when he initiated a traffic stop.  When he did pull over, Henderson bolted from the right side of the car and began running toward a house.

According to the probable cause statement, Keithley ordered Henderson to stop running but he climbed over a rock wall "at which time I observed a handgun in his right hand with the laser pointing sight switched on."  Keithley then deployed his taser "at which time Seth fell to the ground and began to comply."

After Henderson's arrest, Keithley learned that the man had a warrant out for his arrest and he was known to be an armed and dangerous convicted felon.

Henderson's criminal history dates back to 1998.  He is currently on probation after pleading guilty in 2011 to possession of chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine.  He has conviction's for distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, forgery and unlawful use of a weapon.

Henderson, whose preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 26th, is being held on $75,000 bond.
