Chester F. Harris (mug shot SCSO) |
A man from Reeds Spring will stand trial next July several drug related charges.
Chester F. Harris, 33, was taken into custody after Chief Doug Rader received a tip that Harris and a woman had purchased pseudoephedrine and Coleman fuel, items used to make methamphetamine, from Wal-Mart.
After the couple gave officers consent to search their van authorities found a glass baking dish, a pair of pliers, a funnel and a bag of ammonia nitrate, that had been extracted from a cold pack, hidden in a binocular case.
Authorities also found two lithium batteries in Harris' shoes, according to court records.
As the woman was placed in handcuffs Harris yelled, "It's all mine, she had nothing to do with it," according to the probable cause statement.
Harris is charged with possession of chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine, intent to manufacture meth, and unlawful use of paraphernalia.
The woman was released, according to court documents.
Stone County deputies and members of the COMET Drug Task Force assisted in the investigation.
