Five people were charged with burglary after an alert neighbor called authorities about suspicious activity in Lampe last week.

Sheriff Richard Hill says the neighbor contacted the homeowner who was away and was told that no one had permission to be on or in the property.

Hill says that when three deputies arrived at 4856 State Highway 13 about 4:30 p.m. on November 29th they found five people scattered about the property and taking things from the residence, outbuildings and vehicles and loading them into their own vehicle.

Arrested at the scene were Christina S. Compton, 43, Dustin Locke, 29, William Ritter, 43, Michael L. Slous, 52, Dustin P. Locke, 29, and Joseph Garrison, 34.

They are all facing charges of second-degree burglary and are being held in the Stone County jail.

Slous is also charged with tampering with a motor vehicle and possession of burglary tools; Garrison is also facing tampering with a motor vehicle charge and Ritter is facing additional charges of tampering with a motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
