A firefighter with the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District has been charged with statutory sodomy - causing physical injury or with a weapon.
Prosecutor's say Matthew Charles Anderson, 26, of Reeds Spring, allegedly inappropriately touched a six year-old girl on November 14th.
"He's been placed on suspension pending the outcome of the case, " said Chief David Geyger.
Anderson, who has been with the department for ten years, is the third employee with SSCFPD to be charged with sex crimes involving children. The other two were dismissed after being convicted.
Anderson is being held on $100,000 bond and is due back in court on December 11th for a bail hearing. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 22, 2013.
Part of the bond conditions for Anderson is that he have no contact with the victim or her family and he cannot reside with them.
