Today, Jasper County Prosecutor Dean Dankleson filed murder charges against the elder Salazar. The probable cause statement says that baby Eddie died from blunt force trauma to the head.
The father of an eight-month old baby found dead in the Spring River on February 6th has been charged with second-degree murder.

A statewide Amber Alert was in effect for two days for as hundred of searched looked for baby Eddie.

The P/C goes on to say, "A combination physical evidence and statements made by Eddie Salazar Sr. indicated that he was responsible for the death of his son."
According to the autopsy report, baby Eddie also had other broken bones as well as a skull fracture.
Dankleson says he believes the baby was dead before he was thrown in the river.
Salazar is also facing charges of filing a false police report in connection to the baby's death.

I hate that no one's commented on this yet. This death has rocked the city of Carthage to it's roots. It was unnecessary, and completely heart wrenching. God be with this poor baby.
