Two men from Las Vegas were haulin' a whole lot more than lettuce on Friday when they were pulled over during a routine inspection by a Highway Patrol Trooper on I-44 in Newton County.
Troopers say that Eddie J. Dorantes, 41, and Oscar F. Chong-Aguirre, 52, allegedly had 227 kilos of cocaine hidden within the load of produce.
Both Dorantes (above) and Chong-Aguirre (below) have been charged with first-degree drug trafficking.
Dorantes bonded out of the Newton County jail on $100,000 bond.
Immigration Custom Enforcement (ICE) has placed a hold on Chong-Aguirre.
