After speaking with the driver, the trooper became suspicious of criminal activity, and asked for and received consent to search the vehicle where five kilos of cocaine were found.
Desmond W. Thompson, 39, of Brooklyn, NY., has been charged with first degree drug trafficking in the first degree. He is scheduled to be back in court on February 11, 2009 for his preliminary hearing.
Thompson is being held in the Greene County jail on $75,000 bond.
