Crane Man Killed In Car/Train Crash:

Marionville, Mo.- A man from Crane was killed early this morning after his car was hit by a train in Marionville.

According to a news release from the Aurora-Marionville Police Department, 56 year-old Paul Michael Jay was eastbound on Lincoln Street when he drove around the crossing arms at the railway crossing and was hit by the freight train.

“The train horn sounded, and the vehicle drove around the crossing arms, into the path of the train,” the release says. “The vehicle was pushed over 1,000 feet down the tracks before the train could be stopped.”

That crash happened about 1:30 a.m., according to the release.
