Crane, Mo.-  The head coach for the Crane Pirates boys basketball team resigned last week.
Dale Lamberth, who was in his third year with the school, was placed on administrative leave last month following an alleged violation of district policy.  Sources say it was all stemmed from a sexting controversy with an 18 year-old student.
Assistant coach Chris Hastings has been named interim head coach.

Crane, Mo.-The boys basketball coach for the Crane school district was placed on paid administrative leave during a closed school board meeting last night.
According to Ozarks Sport Zone, Dale Lamberth, who is the reigning SWCL Coach of the Year, is in his third year as head coach for the school district.  School superintendent Dr. Travis Shaw said no school board action has been taken at this time, and that he can not address personnel issues.  No timetable has been set for further action.
Multiple sources say that a parent of a student contacted school administrators on Monday after he found several inappropriate text messages between his daughter and Lamberth.  An emergency school board meeting was then called.
The Pirates are currently 18-2 and ranked number 1 in Class 2.
The Virginia native, who played for Missouri State from 2005 to 2008, previously served as an assistant coach at Hillcrest High School in Springfield.
