Over 2,000 people attended Cajun Days in Reeds Spring last weekend.

The event drew about 90 vendors to the festival, according to organizer Flavie Lear.

"This was the first year as an official city event," said Lear.  Lear and her husband, Paul, spearheaded the festival six years ago to highlight their business, the Reeds Spring Pizza Company.

Stone County Deputy Clerk and current candidate for that office Cindy Elmore (with Ron Thomas) had a booth at the event

"It just got too big for us to handle alone so we asked the city if they would like to take it over," she said.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the remodeling of the old WPA building that is being renovated into a community center.

Stone County Clerk candidate Denise Dickens (with Dave Liebenow) also had a booth

"As a business we had to pay to be a vendor for a celebration we started," said Lear.  "We're okay with that because the money will be used in our community."
