A man from Marionville was sentenced last week to five years in prison after entering an Alford plea to child molestation charges last month.

Marty Lynn White was charged in 2012 after his roommates children told authorities that he showed them pornographic pictures on the computer and inappropriately touched one of them.

White', who was on parole for 2011 domestic assault at the time of the incident, case will be reviewed in 120 days and he could be placed on parole then.

Stone County prosecutor Matt Selby says White will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life when he is released from prison.

An Alford plea is one in which the defendant does not admit guilt, but acknowledges that the state probably has enough evidence to secure a conviction if the case were to go to trial.
