Reeds Spring City Administrator Bill Bell

It appears that the proposed annexation to expand the city limits of Reeds Spring is close to becoming reality.
The city has been seeking annexation from the Missouri Department of Transportation for  right-of-ways on Missouri 248  from the current city limits to Missouri 13, on Missouri 76, west from the current city limits to west of Yocum Pond Road, and Missouri 413, north from the current city limits to just west of Yocum Pond Road, according to City Adminstrator Bill Bell.
City leaders are also seeking funding to upgrade and expand the municipal water system along the proposed routes.
“The indication we got is that everything has come back from the engineers,” Bell said. “All that was left for MoDOT to do was to forward me the paperwork so we could put it into ordinance and get it passed.”
If the annexation is granted, it would eliminate the need to negotiate an easement from individual property owners.
At last week's Board of Alderman meeting several bid proposals to paint the town's water tower were reviewed.
“I still have to get some additional information from a couple of bidders who didn’t submit the necessary information,” Bell said.
