Anthony Zarro

The trial for one of the murder suspects in a double homicide will be heard in Newton County.
Judge J. Edward Sweeney has tentatively scheduled the trial of Anthony Zarro,17, of Spring Texas, for June 23, 2014 in Newton County.
Zarro, who is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, is also facing several other charges connected to the January 31st murders of Paul and Margaret Brooks.  The Brookses were found dead inside their son's lake house near Lampe.
Judge Alan Blankenship ruled in April that Zarro and another teen Christopher Allen, 16, of Nashville, Tennessee would stand trial as adults for the Brookses deaths.
The teens had run away from a boys ranch in Lampe a few days before the homicides and were hiding out in a house next door to where they elderly couple were vacationing.
Paul Baglesly, who held the boys at gunpoint until sheriff's deputies arrived, will be honored as the 2013 Missouri Sheriff's Association Citizen of the Year.
Allen is scheduled to appear in court on August 6th.  It is expected that a change of venue will be granted for his trial at that appearance.
Both suspect’s are being held on $2 million bond.
