A man from Republic who ran from deputies when they went to a house in Branson West on April 17th was sentenced to four years in prison after he pleaded guilty earlier this month.
When authorities went to the house on Lewallen Lane on April Justin Scott, 24, jumped out a bedroom window and fled into some nearby woods, according to court documents. Republic man was sentenced Monday for charges filed in April for running from police while in possession of drugs.
Justin Scott, 24, was given four- and two-year sentences,to run concurrently, with the Missouri Department of Corrections after he waived formal arraignment and pleaded guilty on the same day.
Scott ran through a tunnel that runs under Missouri 13 and attempted to hide behind a log, according to a press release from Sheriff Doug Rader.
When law enforcers searched a backpack that Scott left inside the residence they found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to court records.
The Southern Stone County First Protection District assisted in apprehending Scott when he fell down an embankment and was injured.
