Robert Lee Campbell (mug shot TCSO)

Two suspects facing charges connected to the 2011 murders of Rusty and Becky Porter have formally pleaded not guilty in circuit court.

A grand jury indicted Rusty Porter's uncle, Robert Campbell, 68, of Willard on two counts of first-degree murder. Court documents say he offered "consideration" to one or more people to kill the couple. He is due back in court on February 7th.

Windy Friend (mug shot TCSO)

The same grand jury indicted Windy Friend, 31, of Springfield on two counts of conspiracy to commit first degree murder.  Court documents allege she helped facilitate the murders and cleaned up afterward.  She is due back in court March 21st.

Both are being held in the Taney County jail on a half-million dollars each.

Three other people being held in connection to the Porter's murders will appear in court soon.  Dusty Hicks, of Walnut Grove, is scheduled to appear on January 10th.  It appears that the change of venue motion for Windy Friend's husband, Tony Lee Friend, will be taken up on January 17th.  His son, Phillip Friend, is also due back in court on February 7th.  All three are charged with two counts of first-degree murder, felonious restraint and armed criminal action.

The Porter's went missing from their home near Willard in April of 2011 and their skeletal remains were found three months later in rural Taney County.
