Joey Lynn Plunkett (mug shot SCSO) A man who allegedly attempted to set two Stone County deputies on fire January 8th is in the Stone County jail on a half million dollars bond. According to court records, a woman told dispatchers that Joey Lynn Plunkett, 43, had driven "his truck (which contained a barrel of fuel)" into a house at 522 Craig Street in Reeds Spring. The woman told authorities that she and two young children were inside the residence. When Deputies Nathan Boone and Dustin Wells arrived on the scene, Plunkett walked to his truck and locked himself inside. When the deputies approached the truck, Plunkett threw the vehicle in reverse and almost hit the law enforcers. Plunkett then drove the vehicle to the back of the dwelling where it became stuck after hitting a tree. As the deputies attempted to get Plunkett out of the truck, he threw gasoline in Deputy Wells' face and had a lighter in his hand, according to the probable cause statement. Plunkett, who was placed on probation after pleading guilty to DWI charges last May, has been charged with two counts of assault of a law enforcement officer and one count of resisting arrest. |
