Authorities need your help in finding Christin Ross who is 9 month's pregnant |
Family members of a teenager who has been missing from Vernon County for nearly a week are asking for the publics help in locating the girl.
Seventeen year-old Christin Ross, who is full term, told her roommate last Monday (04-16) that she was walking to a store to meet a cousin who she was going to visit for a few days. Authorities say they have learned that Ross does not have a cousin who lives in the area.
Friends and relatives of the missing girl told investigator's that they received a rambling text message from Ross indicating that she may have given birth to a child that had died. “The message said ‘rest in peace’ and then there were suicidal comments,” Nevada police officer Lukas Gibson said.
Gibson said they have not been able to verify if Ross was the person who actually sent the text message.
Family members told authorities that it was highly unusual for the teen not to keep in touch with them.
“We don’t know if she’s given birth,” he said. “We don’t know if she’s okay; we don’t know if the child’s okay.”
Gibson says they have interviewed the father of Ross's child and another boyfriend and have not ruled them out as suspects in Ross's disappearance.
If you can help authorities locate Christin Ross call the Nevada Police Department at 417-448-2710 or the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678 .
UPDATE 04-23-12:
Hill was taken into custody Sunday evening in Pleasent Hill, where her boyfriend lives, according to Gibson.
Gibson said Ross is no longer pregnant and has been unwilling to say what happened to her baby. "The case has moved from a missing person's investigation into a criminal investigation."
