Daniel Wade Chapman is wanted for his wife's murder |
-
Authorities in Cabool are asking for help in locating a man they believe murdered his wife yesterday evening at the family's business.
A customer at the Sinclair station told authorities he attempted to get into the locked business about 8:22, but was waved off by Daniel "Danny " Chapman who was arguing with his wife. The man told authorities that when Sandi Chapman ran toward the locked door her husband shot her in the back.
-
The witness told investigators he heard four more shots as he ran to a nearby car wash where he hid for about five minutes until he saw Daniel Chapman leave the couple's business. He then went to the police station to report the incident, according to spokesman Roger McDonald.

When authorities arrived, they found 55 year-old Sandra May Chapman dead and Daniel Chapman on the run.
Cops believe that Danny Chapman may have run to Kansas, Illinois, Nebraska, Arkansas or Oklahoma where he has family. "We're not sure if he's in the area or in a surrounding state," said McDonald.
McDonald says the couple were "going through marital difficulties." Police records do not show any calls of domestic disturbances to the Chapman's home or business.
Chapman was last seen traveling northbound on U. S. 63 in a 2010 white Ford pickup truck with license plate number OUM-214. Authorities had received a tip that Chapman was in Hardy, Arkansas but that lead was false.
