A man from Stone County was busted today for allegedly having sex with an underage girl on multiple occasions in the county.
Stone County prosecutor Matt Selby has charged 26 year-old Michael Lee Shelton (a.) with three counts of statutory rape.
If convicted of the charges, Shelton is facing seven years in prison on each charge and/or a possible $5,000 fine.
He is being held in the Stone County jail on $75,000 bond.

On Wednesday, October 1st, Stone County Sheriffs Deputies responded to an address in the Crane, Missouri, area for the report of a statutory rape. After speaking with the victim it was determined the juvenile female had sex with a 26 yr old male on multiple occasions in Stone County.
Based on the interview, detectives picked up the suspect, 26 yr old Michael Lee Shelton, of Crane, and interviewed him. Based on the interviews and the statements made by both individuals, the Stone County Prosecutor filed charges today.
Michael Lee Shelton, 26 yrs old, from Crane, Missouri, was charged with three counts of Statutory Rape – 2nd degree, with each count being a Class C Felony, punishable by a time up to 7 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections and/or a fine up to $5000.00 for each count. Michael Shelton is incarcerated at the Stone County Jail with a bond of $75,000.00 cash/surety.
