A young man who pleaded guilty in July to torching a 105 year-old Lamar Church was sentenced today to ten years in prison on several different charges related to the fire.
Twenty year-old John Manco (b.), who lived two doors down from St. Marys Catholic Church, poured an accelerant on the altar and set the church on fire after stealing $200.00 from the historic church on February 8th.

Manco, was also sentenced to five years in prison today for an unrelated drug charge.
Two people who represented the church asked the judge to give Manco the minimum sentence in the case which was ten years.
Barton County Prosecutor Steve Kaderly says, "I'm not disappointed. We had a good plea agreement."
