Cops in Branson police busted a pair of suspected TV thief's over the weekend.

Charges of second-degree burglary and receiving stolen property have been filed against Randy D. McBroom II, 22, and Stephanie A. Brown, 22, both of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Branson Police Chief Carroll McCullough says that Brown and McBroom, were arrested after they allegedly stole several plasma TV's from Wal-Mart's in southwest Missouri.

McCullough said his officers were alerted to the scam Sunday afternoon when Brown, who posed as a Wal-Mart employee, and McBroom allegedly were trying to steal a TV from the Wal-Mart on Missouri 76 in Branson.

After arresting the couple, officers found a pickup truck and U-Haul trailer the pair had been using. Inside were four more TVs, three of which allegedly had been stolen from Wal-Mart stores from the Joplin area during the weekend.

Last month cops in Joplin sent out an alert to agencies in the area notifying law enforces that two women using the same ruse had stolen a 52-inch, flat-screen Samsung television worth $1,300 in Joplin and Pittsburgh, Kansas.

No word on whether the thefts might be connected.
