The jury trial for a woman from Nixa accused of shooting her boyfriend to death in January 2008 is slated to begin in two weeks.

Kelly Sue Pardue is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action for the death of Jon Sell.

Authorities were dispatched to Pardue's home because the caller said Sell had shot himself while cleaning a gun.

Investigators say that evidence at the crime scene didn't match up with what Pardue claimed happened. When confronted with the evidence, Pardue gave conflicting answers to several questions.

At one point Pardue implied that Sell threw the shotgun after supposedly shooting himself, or that an intruder entered the house and shot Sell.

Investigators said Sell was crouching and stooping when he was shot and that it would have been impossible for Sell to have shot himself, either accidentally or on purpose.

An officer also wrote in the probable cause statement that someone took a shower and washed away blood before cops arrived at the scene.

As authorities kept digging for clues in the case it was revealed that Pardue was upset with Sell for taking her dog and dumping it with a bag of dog food in Taney County.

The probable cause statement says that Pardue had an active ex parte (order of protection ) against Sell at the time of his death.

If Pardue is convicted Pardue could face up 30-years in prison for second-degree murder. If convicted of the armed criminal action charge that would mean that she would have to serve at least 80% of the sentence imposed before she would be eligible for parole.

Pardue's trial is to begin on April 20, 2009 in Christian County.
NOTE: PARDUE'S TRIAL HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO BEGIN IN LATE JULY.
