Springfield police are investigating another shooting on the city's north side.

This time a man and a woman were shot at a home at 1831 North Link about 11:30 last night.

One of the victims left the scene but was found a short time later after a call of another shooting came in on N. Delaware Street. When cops arrived at the N. Delaware Street call they didn't find another shooting, but the victim of the Link assault.

The victims of the assault have non-life threatening injuries and told investigators that they didn't know their assailant.

Detectives say that there were other people in the home at the time of the shooting and they are helping investigators piece together what happened in the home.

This is the seventh shooting in Springfield in the last three weeks.
  • The first in the string of shooting took place on South Golden Avenue
  • #2 McDonald's on Chestnut Expressway at West Bypass
  • The third was in downtown one was outside Club 220
  • Fatal gunfight in 1800 block on N. Main on April 4th was the fourth--Anglish Johnson has been charged with second degree murder for allegedly gunning down Nathaniel Charleston Jr.
  • On April 5th a man told cops someone tried to break into his apartment at Sunshine Terrace Apartments, 712 E. Sunshine St. and he was shot in the left arm.
  • April 7th two people shot at a home on N. Link.
