A juvenile has been arrested in Joplin for making terroristic threats against his/her classmates at Joplin High School last weekend.
My blogger friends over at Show-Me Opinions had the story up and running on their blog Monday.
The Joplin Police Department says that this kid sent out text messages that said there was going to be a shooting at the school on Monday (03-30-09).
Additional Joplin cops were sent to the school Monday to deter any violence from taking place. Meanwhile the JPD, the school resource officer and investigators with the Jasper County sheriff's department tried to determine the origin of the text.
Well, it looks like they did. A suspect has been arrested and transported to a juvenile facility.
The investigation is ongoing to determine if anyone else was involved in the threat.
