Last Saturday America’s Most Wanted featured a man who is wanted by the Joplin Police Department in connection to a 2006 murder.
Detectives say that, Joshua Olson of Duenweg, MO., and a friend went out searching for two brothers , Jose Deleon Alberto-Cazares, who cops say uses the street name "Chino," and Gerardo Cazares Jr., who is known as "Jerry," that Olson believed were responsible for stealing the rims off of his vehicle on July 14, 2006.
Cops say that's when an "argument got heated between Josh and the Cazares brothers, and to avoid further conflict, Josh turned away and walked to his car." Enraged, Jose Cazares followed Olson to his car, where he allegedly shot the man in the head.
Cazares is believed to have fled to the Brownsville TX or Matamoras Mexico area after the murder where authorities believe is getting help hiding from relatives.
On the January 3rd program, a picture of Cazares was shown at a commercial break and then at the end of the program. Cazares
was featured on America’s Most Wanted Website as their top story on October 1st, 2008 and he continues to remain on their website.
Joplin Police have received several tips from America’s Most Wanted and are actively pursuing them.
