A twenty two year old Neosho man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for shooting two cops in Newton County.

When Sgt.Dan Cook stopped Adam Bridgewater and attempted to arrest him on a probation violation in Neosho in March of 2007, he shot the officer in the arm and fled the scene.

Another Neosho officer, Michael Sharp, chased Bridgewater who shot the cop in the face through the windshield of his cruiser.

The Missouri Highway Patrol was called in and troopers chased Bridgewater through McDonald County where Bridgewater opened fire on them hitting one of the troopers vehicles.

Bridgewater crashed his car in rural McDonald County and eluded authorities for thirteen hours before a tipster told law enforcers where the man was hiding out.

Bridgewater, who pleaded guilty, was sentenced to three consecutive (one after another) life sentences for assault of a law enforcement officer, and three concurrent (at the same time) life sentences for armed criminal action.
