The two year search for a missing woman from Osage Beach has come to an end.

A family out walking their dog along a creek near Eldon last Saturday found a human skull with teeth and called 911.

The skull was sent to the Boone County Medical Examiners office, where dental records confirmed, that the human remains found belong to 22 year-old Brandi Mathews.

Mathews went missing in September of 2006, but wasn't reported missing until March of 2008 because her mother, Deanna Roberts, says no one would listen to her.

Mathews was last known to be working as a dancer in several bars in the area around the Lake Of The Ozarks, using the name “Faith.”
At the time of her disappearance, Mathews was not communicating with her family because of custody disputes involving her then 18 month old son.

Authorities say that Mathews was known to be associated with alleged drug dealers in the Eldon area, and was in an abusive relationship with one of them.

That person is high on the list of possible suspects connected to Mathews death and has refused to take a polygraph test.

Investigators don't yet know the cause of Mathews death, however, the skull and bones were burned and very decomposed. Foul play is suspected in the young mothers death and the sheriffs department has opened a homicde investigation into Mathews death..

Miller County Sheriff Bill Abbott says that deputies from his office plan to go back out to the area where the bones were found to conduct a more thorough search.

The Miller County Sheriff's office will be assisted by the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force and the Moniteau County Sheriff's Department in their investigation into Mathews death.
