A Reeds Spring man who had been on the run from authorities since he was charged with several sex charges involving a young girl in November was captured at a Springfield hotel on December 21st.

The girl told investigators that Carl Anthony Selph allegedly sexually assaulted her from 2009 until July of 2013 at a house in Lampe, according to court documents.

The young girl says Selph, 40, exposed himself to her on multiple occasions and forced her to have sex with him.  The probable cause statement says he would also walk in on her while she was in the shower and that the 40 year-old man would not let her go places unless she touched him or performed sexual acts on him.

A tip led police to the Rest Haven Motel on Kearney and when officers knocked on the door, Selph said he wanted to turn himself in to his attorney.  He opened the door after cops told him they weren't leaving and he was apprehended.

After he was arrested Selph was taken to a Springfield hospital.
