A seventy three year-old man from Reeds Spring is facing new sex charges involving children.
According to the probable cause statement, John Robertj McLaughlin, 73, who was charged with 16 counts of statutory sodomy and 2 counts of sexual misconduct with a child on June 19th, allegedly had oral and anal sex with the victim, who is now 20 years-old, from 1996 - 2009.
Last year Prosecutor Matt Selby charged McLaughlin with seven counts of sex crimes involving two girls that date back to 2002. He is scheduled to go to trial on those charges in October.
McLaughlin was released from jail after posting 5,000 bond.
If McLaughlin is convicted of the charges, he faces up to life (30 years) in prison on each of the sodomy charges and up to 4 years in prison on each of the sexual misconduct charges.
