Tony Lee Friend (mug shot GCSO) |
A Springfield man charged in Taney County with murder for the deaths of former Stone County resident Becky Porter and her husband Rusty will spend the next four years and nine months in federal prison.
As authorities were investigating the disappearances of the Porters, who vanished from their home near Willard in April of 2011, they executed a federal search warrant at the mobile home of Tony Friend in Greene County.
Friend, 45, was found to be in possession of ammunition, which is illegal for him to possess as he has convictions of unlawful use of a weapon and domestic assault in Missouri and a conviction out of Arkansas .
The Porter's bodies were found in July of 2011 in rural Taney County on property that Tony Friend was very familiar with. He, his son Phillip, brother-in-law Robert Campbell and cousin Dusty Hicks are all facing murder charges connected to the double homicide. His wife, Windy Friend, is facing conspiracy to commit murder charges.
All of the charges connected to the murders were handed down by a Taney County grand jury.

About the Tony Friend post...I used to live next door to them. Supposedly he is so weak and dying from cancer. Creepy.
Tony Friend.. 4 YEARS AND 9 MONTHS!? For a double, and not to mention obviously premeditated, murder? I'd go to jail longer for having a pound of weed. Tell me more about this justice thing..
