A pregnant woman from Kimberling City has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly shooting up drugs while she is pregnant.
According to the probable cause statement, authorities found Terasa Nicole Vaughn in possession of several Xanax pills that were not prescribed to her. They also found five spoons with drug residue in them and syringes that Vaughn, who is three months pregnant, used to "shoot up."
Vaughn, who has a criminal history of fraud, was also found to have three Social Security cards that did not belong to her in her possession.
It appears from online court records that the state took custody of Vaughn's 12 year-old daughter earlier this year.
She is being held on $50,000 bond.
