Charges have been filed in a fatal shooting that took place on a street in Noel last month.
Voluntary manslaughter charges have been filed against forty-nine year old James Patterson, who allegedly shot his thirty-two year-old son-in-law Marty Reece multiple times with a handgun "in self defense," on Alexander Drive September 7th.
When authorities arrived at the crime scene, Patterson and his wife Kimberly, both of Noel, were both arrested and placed on a twenty-four hour hold. They both posted bond.
The Pattersons' daughter, Jindy Patterson-Reece, who was married to the victim was also at the scene of the shooting.
According to online court records Jindy Reece filed for divorce from her husband this past February and had an active order of protection against Reece at the time of his death.
