Forty four year-old Fred Wayne Ritchey, of Crane, is charged with statutory sodomy, attempted statutory rape and attempted statutory sodomy.
Authorities allege that Ritchey raped the then 16 year-old friend of his step-daughter when she stayed all night at the girl's house in June of 2011. Ritchey's step-daughter told investigators that he inappropriately touched her a few months before that.
Prosecutor Matt Selby has charged Ritchey as a prior and persistent offender due to his convictions for robbery, forgery and burglary.
The trial is expected to last two days.

Just wanted to comment on the Fred Wayne Ritchey story. He also has a pending case in Taney county for raping a 15 yr old girl. He was offered a plea deal, if he plead guilty to the charges in Stone county, Taney county wasn't going to charge him with the rape of the 15 yr old girl. This man needs to spend the rest of his life in prison, in the general population. If he's ever out of prison, he will strike again. One of his victims was under 12 yrs. old.
